Rest assured, A Quiet Place 3 is in progress, yet it may take some time before we see it. The forthcoming film is moving at a rather slow pace, largely due to director and star John Krasinski’s packed schedule.

A third main installment in the horror franchise was announced shortly after A Quiet Place Part 2 was released in 2022. However, according to producer Brad Fuller, development has only truly commenced recently, nearly three years later.

“We’re beginning to piece it together at this moment. You know, when we created the first film, John [Krasinski] didn’t have much on his agenda. He had just wrapped up The Office, and he was eager to direct,” he explains to The Inform. “Now, he’s in high demand, and it’s challenging to secure his time. He’s currently filming another project, so hopefully, once he wraps that up, he can turn his focus to [A Quiet Place 3].”

Since the release of A Quiet Place in 2018, Krasinski has appeared in both Marvel and DC films (the former as Reed Richards from an alternate timeline, the latter as Superman for League of Super-Pets) and has been cast as Jack Ryan in the popular Amazon Prime series of the same name. His portrayal as Jack could potentially be a factor, as a film is currently in development following the conclusion of the TV series after four successful seasons.

He has also been involved in numerous other projects, both major and minor, during this time. Krasinski’s current popularity presents challenges for any franchise in which he has served as director, writer, and lead actor across multiple entries.

Fuller indicates that A Quiet Place: Day One, the prequel set for release in 2024 starring Lupita Nyong’o, was not meant to serve as a trilogy-ender, implying that we can expect more spin-offs as well. “We all want to complete that trilogy, and I’m optimistic that there will be even more Quiet Place films beyond that,” he adds.

Emily Blunt is anticipated to return for A Quiet Place 3.
