The Monster Hunter Stories Collection is available at a fantastic price on Amazon and Walmart. Each retailer is offering the compilation of two games for the Nintendo Switch at $33.55. The Monster Hunter Stories Collection was launched last June at a price of $60, meaning you save nearly 50% compared to its original price.
If you enjoy Pokémon games, Capcom’s approach to monster-taming titles is definitely worth exploring. These two turn-based RPGs are significantly different from the main Monster Hunter series, but you will still get to spend time with some of the franchise’s most iconic monsters. Plus, you’re getting plenty of gameplay for your investment here. Each entry in the Monster Hunter Stories series offers 30-40 hours of playtime at a minimum, and the wealth of optional content can substantially extend that number.

The release of the Monster Hunter Stories Collection coincided with the standalone launch of the upgraded version of the original game. Prior to last June, the original installment in the spin-off series was exclusive to 3DS and mobile devices. The enhanced Nintendo Switch and PC edition features HD graphics, comprehensive English and Japanese voiceovers, along with content from the 3DS version that was not included in the mobile port. Alongside the games, Capcom introduced a Museum Mode rich with artwork and music.
Switch owners should note that only Monster Hunter Stories is included on the cartridge; Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is a digital download from the eShop and requires about 14GB of storage space.
The sequel did have a physical edition when it launched back in 2021, so you could theoretically acquire both Monster Hunter Stories titles in physical format, although it will cost you significantly more. Wings of Ruin is currently available for $43 at Amazon. Physical copies of both games can solely be found for the Nintendo Switch.
The Monster Hunter Stories series is also available on PlayStation and PC, but only in digital form. GameSpot’s sister site Fanatical has discounts on Steam keys for both titles and the collection:
- Monster Hunter Stories Collection (PC) — $49.19 (
$60) - Monster Hunter Tales (PC) — $24.59 (
$30) - Monster Hunter Tales 2: Wings of Ruin (PC) — $33.59 (
$40)
