Xenoblade Chronicles X! Apologies, We’re Closed! Gal Guardians!

Not on the previously mentioned list, but my prediction is Petit Island which is likely to be released in March 2025 as well.

I’ve preordered physical copies at my usual retailer for Suikoden, Xenoblade Chronicles X, and Atelier Yumia, so I’m supporting these in the poll. However, I’m also excited about finally getting Everhood 2 (even though I need to play the first one first), Mainframes, On Your Tail, Kraino ReBirth (must play Origins first), Breakout Beyond, and Servants of the Sad (similar style, but I should finish Demon Purge first)!

Mainframes seems really intriguing. I wonder if there will be any reviews for it. I might just pick it up regardless of any reviews since I’m curious about it and the price is reasonable (and I’ve missed using my Switch, as I didn’t touch it at all in February).

For some reason, Centum sounds familiar, but I’ll need to look it up and see if it’s something I’m interested in.

I’d like to say I’m excited about picking up Gal Guardians, but to be honest, the first one was decent but not amazing, and the co-op didn’t work as well as I had hoped. It was too complex for my family to enjoy with me, and I ended up playing it alone, which isn’t my goal with a co-op game… I wish co-op games had a “family-friendly mode” or “play with kids mode.” Lol.

And that’s March for me. I’ll be also enjoying Split Fiction and AC Shadows elsewhere.

I forgot about Mainframes and hope someone will acquire it to keep a physical version.

On Your Tail and Atelier Yumia sound excellent for me; it looks like it’s going to be an enjoyable month!

I’m no longer even the slightest bit annoyed after reading that. What a scam

I hold countless cherished memories of playing Arkanoid when I was quite young, so I’m actually not familiar with Breakout Beyond. I’ve just added it to my wishlist and will likely purchase it when I find some time in my backlog.
Thanks for the reminder!

@somnambulance

All they need to do is allow every player to set their own discipline parameters (they used to call it “handicap.”✌️)

All I want is more co-op games that people will actually play with me 😆 I’m a simple guy.

Suikoden and Xenoblade are the main ones for me, I’m really looking forward to these. I also voted for Atelier Yumia, which appears to be the most intriguing of the group. Additionally, I was surprised to see On Your Tail on this list; I thought it had been released months ago lol

@Anti-Matter this game was released in November 2024. It’s quite similar to the game Alba. This game can likely be completed in 3 hours maximum

@-wc- Exactly. A handicap might be beneficial. My son enjoys watching me play Castlevania, but it’s completely beyond his capability to play games like that. And there’s no Game Genie for him!

Placed a pre-order for XCX and Suikoden I & II HD.

@somnambulance

I truly wish the Game Genie had been promoted and recognized as “designing your own rules,” instead of “cheating.” because that’s what it allowed you to do! I mainly crafted my game genies on SNES, particularly NES. ❤️

PS – I recall as a child reading somewhere (probably in a magazine..) that if you activated your game genie at just the right moment, Buzz Buzz wouldn’t perish and he would remain in your party for the entire game! I must have tried it a hundred times… 😂

Nothing for me this month, thankfully. I’ll skip it to focus on clearing some backlog one way or another!

The next month looks promising. XCX is on pre-order, a fresh batch of re-released Spectrums available on the 29th in the UK after selling out last year, and the SW2 command to wrap up. I’m truly a delighted gamer for the upcoming month.

@-wc- Oh man, I used my Game Genie on almost every game when I was my son’s age. I even had several hacked cartridges that had some “special rules” that my dad obtained from someone importing games from Taiwan. Wow, the NES was a unique era, wasn’t it? The bizarre experiences we got to enjoy that younger players don’t realize they’re missing out on…

Suikoden>Xenoblade>Atelier Yuma in terms of what to play first. Luckily, Suikoden releases on the day I get paid. :3

I have already pre-ordered Xenoblade Chronicles X. Atelier Yumia does seem intriguing, though, and it’s a game I would consider checking out later.

@somnambulance

it was once the game extender! I could become completely uninterested in a game, then gaze at a game genie configuration and extract hours more from it! and even enhance the game on a fundamental level 👍👍

the most notable experience I had with my NES GG was with SMB3:

1) “always begin with hammer bros suit” (which I hadn’t known was available back then!)
2) “moon gravity,” I believe that was its name, allowing you to “double jump” endlessly, and
3) “Invulnerable!”

using these three codes, I thoroughly explored that game inside and out for hidden features, glitches, shortcuts… it marked my first encounter in “breaking” a game (SMB3 was indeed that for everyone, right? starting with the warp whistle tricks. this game astonished my young mind! 🤯)

Xenoblade X is definitely on my list. I even pre-ordered it. Atelier Yumia seems to be really promising. I think I’ll get that but I’ll wait for reviews and feedback. Another game coming out this month that’s not included on the list that I most certainly will get is the Ever 17 bundle. It’s a precursor/prototype to the Zero Escape video games.
