Gex has returned, just like that!

Back in the days when games featuring anthropomorphic characters were all the rage, there lived a gecko named Gex who had an entire trilogy to his name. Whether you paid attention or missed it entirely, this beloved trilogy is set to make a comeback on modern consoles this year.

A brand-new trailer has just been unveiled, confirming that this revitalized series—powered by Limited Flow’s Carbon Engine—will be launching on a couple of platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, in Summer 2025. The collection features the original 2D platformer GEX (1995) along with its two 3D sequels: GEX: Enter the Gecko (1998) and GEX 3: Deep Cover Gecko (1999).

“Get ready for things to get crazier than the 4th of July at Rick James’ house! Everyone’s favorite tail-whipping, channel-surfing gecko is back in a compilation that includes all of his top-selling escapades!”

In addition, the trilogy will include various extras and a number of enhancements, such as the ability to “rewind and save anywhere” to keep Gex’s journey flowing smoothly. It will also feature “native widescreen” support. You can learn a bit more about Gex’s upcoming trilogy in our previous coverage right here on Nintendo Life:

Will you be revisiting this series when it arrives later this year? Did you experience the original games back in the day?
