Update[Solar 23rd Feb 2025, 1:30am]: The official YouTube channel for Magic: The Gathering has released a “first look” video offering a glimpse into what enthusiasts can expect from the upcoming Final Fantasy crossover. Once again, this will be released in June.

The trading card industry is thriving, and Magic: The Gathering has seen a surge in sales lately with a range of iconic collaborations spanning various series, including video game-themed titles. If you’re a fan of characters like Cloud Strife, this upcoming release is sure to pique your interest.

If you overlooked the original announcement, it is Final Fantasy x Magic: The Gathering and will focus not just on one installment but on four titles in Square Enix’s long-established JRPG franchise. This includes Final Fantasy 6, Final Fantasy 7, 10, and 14 – with the crossover set to launch on June 13th, 2025.

The cherished FINAL FANTASY RPG series featuring sixteen principal games filled with unforgettable characters, items, and experiences are now part of Magic: The Gathering! Cast astonishing spells, summon classic allies, and even explore your beloved destinations while riding a chocobo. Numerous elements from the games are available for you to combine and create your own narrative!

We’ve also received a first look at the main card for each of the preconstructed commander decks included in these new releases (via IGN):
