Avatar: The Last Airbender is arriving to MTG.

Debuting without warning as part of MagicCon Chicago 2025, MTG Avatar: The Last Airbender is a completely Original-themed set that allows players to “team up with your beloved characters for fresh adventures, iconic artwork, and an elemental clash like never before.” Oh, and don’t worry; the set will be based on the Nickelodeon animated series rather than any live-action version.

According to the announcement, MTG Avatar: The Last Airbender will be available in stores starting November 21. It remains unclear what the set will include in terms of products, but we can likely expect something similar to the Assassin’s Creed crossover from last year. (At the very least, there will be Play and Collector boosters.)

There has been an enigmatic, unnamed Universes Beyond set in Magic: The Gathering’s release schedule for some time, and it seems we finally know what it is. As far as crossovers go, MTG has experienced a bountiful couple of years. Following the additions of Lord of the Rings and Warhammer to one of the top card games, franchises like Fallout, Assassin’s Creed, Marvel, and Final Fantasy have all been integrated into the roster. Considering how successful the latter has been (MTG Final Fantasy Commander decks retail for 40% more than an average preconstructed deck, though that hasn’t kept them from selling out almost immediately), it appears that enthusiasm is only growing within the Universes Beyond brand.

MagicCon wasn’t solely about MTG Avatar: The Last Airbender, however. Alongside news for Tarkir: Dragonstorm (set to release on April 11), we got our first genuine look at Edge of Eternities, a science-fantasy set launching on August 1. This is a release I’ve been eagerly anticipating since it was first announced; much like MTG Aetherdrift, it delves into unexplored realms with a unique style.

The two Commander decks are a remarkable illustration; they feature creatures of a kind we’ve never encountered in MTG before, and just looking at the artwork makes me genuinely excited to dive in.
