Wow, it’s certainly considered remarkable in no circumstances.
A forthcoming Pokémon animated short from CoMix Wave Movies – primarily recognized for its contributions to films such as Your Name, Suzume, and Weathering With You – is shaping up to be extraordinarily appealing, as demonstrated by a brief trailer uploaded to YouTube.
Dragonite and the Postman‘, the short will be available to watch starting from February 27th, widely celebrated as Pokémon Day. The narrative follows a young girl from Paldea who embarks on a journey to uncover the origin of a mysterious letter.
While the trailer may not reveal a substantial amount, CoMix Wave Movies is clearly showcasing its animation prowess here, and the short appears to be significantly more visually refined than anything we’ve encountered previously.
From the credits, it is evident that this project has also been helmed by Taku Kimura, who has recently gained recognition for directing the Star Wars: Visions episode titled ‘Tattooine Rhapsody’.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on this one when it debuts later this month. In other Pokémon news, it has been announced that a Pokémon Presents event will take place on February 27th. These showcases can vary in impact, but we are optimistic that additional information will be provided regarding Pokémon Legends: Z-A, at the very least.
