Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Surprise Hint in Call of Duty: Sunless Ops 6’s Distinctive Design
There have been strong indications that a new Tony Hawk game is currently being developed for a while, and it now seems that an official announcement may soon be on the horizon, based on a sneaky hint seen in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6‘s latest map.
Clues suggesting that Activision might be looking to revive its inactive skating franchise first appeared last September, when Tony Hawk indicated he had “been in discussions with [the publisher] again”. This was followed by professional skateboarder Tyshawn Jones stating earlier this month that he was “involved in a new Tony Hawk project… a remaster they’re working on.”
It now appears that Activision might finally be gearing up to make things official. The Season 02 Reloaded update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 went live earlier today, featuring a remastered version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2‘s skatepark-themed multiplayer map, Grind.
While the skatepark is the focal point of Grind, the map also features various other noteworthy areas, including a skate-themed shop that seems to hint at some exciting content. At the back of the shop, there’s a prominent TV screen showing the date 03.04.25, alongside the distinctive branding used by Activision for the successful Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 remake from 2020.
The clear implication is that Activision might be announcing its new Tony Hawk project on March 4th this year (or possibly April 3rd, if it’s for European audiences). As for what they could be revealing, it’s hard not to speculate—considering the branding and Tyshawn Jones’ earlier mention of “remastering”—that we might be looking at an announcement for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4.

Tony Hawk himself previously indicated that a Pro Skater 3+4 remake was in development following the success of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2. However, those plans reportedly faced challenges when Activision merged developer Vicarious Visions into Blizzard, converting it into a support studio for the Diablo franchise and other Blizzard titles.
Whatever it is that Activision is hinting at, it doesn’t seem like we’ll have to wait too long before everything is unveiled. And I
