Nintendo Clarifies Game Voucher Policy for Switch 2 Exclusives

Nintendo has announced that its Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers discount program will not extend to Switch 2 exclusive titles (thanks to VGC).

The vouchers first appeared in 2019 as a means to offer a slight discount on first-party Switch games. Subscribers of Nintendo Switch Online can purchase a voucher for £84/$100 and use it to redeem two major Switch titles (Breath of the Wild, Paper Mario, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet etc.) that would typically be sold at a higher combined price.

Clearly, it might not have been the most significant discount tool available, but given how rarely Nintendo’s first-party titles drop in price, it became a useful option — especially helpful during times with packed Switch release schedules.
