
Pokémon Company and Niantic Commit $1 Million to Wildfire Prevention Efforts in Los Angeles
Both companies will contribute $500,000 each to GlobalGiving’s California Wildfire Support Fund.
The Pokémon Company International and Pokémon Go developer Niantic have committed $1 million in donations to assist with wildfire relief efforts in Los Angeles.
The Pokémon Company will make a $500,000 contribution to GlobalGiving’s California Wildfire Support Fund, which will then be matched by Niantic’s $500,000 donation.
Various nonprofit organizations, such as the Pasadena Community Foundation and the Downtown Women’s Center, have received funding from GlobalGiving’s initiative, which is set to continue supporting local nonprofits in the aftermath of the recent wildfires.
“Our hearts go out to those impacted by the catastrophic wildfires in Southern California,” stated Pokémon Company Chief Diversity Officer Raquel Daniels.
“We are thankful for the chance to assist recovery efforts in the greater Los Angeles area in collaboration with our partners at Niantic and GlobalGiving.”
GlobalGiving CEO Victoria Vrana expressed, “Thanks to the generous contribution from The Pokémon Company team, we have already provided emergency grants to local nonprofit partners tackling the challenges of relief and recovery.”
