The revelation surrounding Lae’zel in Baldur’s Gate 3, portrayed by Devora Wilde, involves her once again engaging in romance with her own character in the RPG. However, this time it’s due to the passage of time, causing her to forget key parts of her narrative.

Notice how I casually mentioned “again” there? This isn’t the first instance of Lae’zel romancing herself. Wilde previously streamed a hilariously captivating stream in October 2023 where she pursued her character as Pink Lae’zel. A few weeks later, she shared her comically shocked reaction to one of Baldur’s Gate 3’s most provocative scenes, which can only be unlocked by engaging in something rather untoward.

Wilde is a highly active streamer, playing a variety of games for her audience (check out her videos here), and she’s recently been diving into Baldur’s Gate 3. And yes, once again she is playing as a Githyanki.

“When you engage in romance with another Gith like Lae’zel, you encounter truly fascinating options that you wouldn’t find if you were doing it as any other character,” Wilde remarked during an interview with Ginx (an edited version is available above, with the full interview set to be released Sunday). “[The journey] has been exceptionally intriguing. Since we recorded countless lines over many years, there’s a lot I’ve somewhat forgotten. So, it’s quite gratifying for me now to explore Lae’zel’s romance or any other aspect of her narrative because much of it is a blur.”

While it’s completely understandable for a working actor to forget lines she voiced years ago, Wilde tempered her forgetfulness slightly. “I do recall it, obviously, but, you know, I can’t remember every single line. It’s wonderful to develop that relationship and uncover what unfolds.”

This reflects an important message about the vastness and replayability of Baldur’s Gate 3, indicating that even its actors are still engaging with it many months post-launch. I guess it’s time for me to start my first Gith playthrough.
