Weekend Gaming Plans: What’s on Your Playlist This February 15th?

Describe: Fellow Traveller

It’s the weekend, everyone, so you might already be reclining, enjoying a nice cup of tea, and indulging in some leisure time with your favorite games.

This week in the realm of Nintendo, a new placeholder listing at a retailer could (or might not) indicate a more budget-friendly price for the Nintendo Switch 2. Additionally, a recent patent revelation strongly suggests ‘reversible’ Joy-Con functionality; effectively allowing you to flip the Switch 2 upside down.

Elsewhere, we discussed why the Switch 2 possibly featuring an LCD screen might not be catastrophic, while Sony has reportedly taken steps to remove several so-called ‘eSlop’ games from their digital stores, leading to increased demands for Nintendo to do likewise. Finally, there is another major eShop sale happening in Europe right now, so we checked out 98 games you should consider adding to your collection.

This week has been somewhat quieter regarding reviews, so here’s a look at what we covered:

Now, let’s see what the NL team is up to this weekend…

I’m alternating between Okami HD and Metal Gear Solid on the Switch right now. The latter is a quick refresh before our next episode of Get-Up Crew, while the former is just… another playthrough of a classic game.

On Xbox, I’ve reached Halo 4 in my extensive Legendary journey while awaiting the launch of Avowed, and I’m also experimenting with Jurassic Park: Classic Games Collection on the PS5 / Portal.

Despite my best efforts to prolong it as much as possible, I feel like I’m nearing the end of Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector. If this doesn’t make my GOTY 2025 list, then it must have been an exceptional year, I tell you. What a game!

Aside from that, I’ve been discussing Majora’s Mask 3D quite a bit this week, and it’s got me in the mood for another playthrough. It’s been a fair few years since I last played it, but it’s the kind of game that’s generally just so enjoyable and uplifting, isn’t it?

Remember last week when I mentioned I was about to finish The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom? Well, I didn’t… and you can blame Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 for that. I do realize I need to complete this because I’ve been dreaming about it and (apparently) shouting “For the Emperor!” in my sleep.

I’m currently exploring every character in Guilty Gear -Strive- and I found I’m not very adept with the new characters but still perform well with the veterans. I’m nearing the end of Smuggler’s Run: Warzones, and I might jump into the PS2 titles next since I missed those back in the day. It’s wonderful to finally have Moons of Darsalon on Switch, a heartfelt tribute in gaming design to the systems I grew up with.

Game of the week is X-Out: Resurfaced. This is under embargo so I can’t reveal too much, but wow… keep it on your radar! Plus there’s also Project X: Light Years on the horizon. Amiga owners, rejoice!

I’m not sure if I should be revealing my plans too soon, but here goes. This weekend I’ll be playing Sid Meier’s Civilization VII, and I intend to log some serious hours to counter Harriet Tubman’s persistent espionage against me. We are not even rivals yet she’s stealing science points like they’re piles of apples marked ‘free’ at the end of my power.

This week, I’ll be diving back into Infinity Nikki and uncovering more of the Firework Isles area. I got this game for work but it has turned into a recent favorite – it’s vibrant and charming, plus I love the numerous events that are always available.

I’m also fascinated by Pokémon TCG Pocket currently and might delve deeper into that as well. Before the Pokémon EUIC next week, I’m excited to explore more decks and hope to showcase it at the event in some format down the line.

This weekend, I’m going to immerse myself in Mario Kart Wii! I’m bringing my W
