Unveiling the Potential: Do These Monitors Truly Deliver on Their Mountainous Gaming Capabilities?

Two clamshell OLED screens that promised seamless Switch connectivity for on-the-go multiplayer excitement certainly evoked thoughts of fantastic DS gameplay, but can the Duoone OLED genuinely meet those high expectations? That’s what our Alex has been exploring.

The Duoone OLED presents a strikingly attractive appearance, we must acknowledge. Alex managed to get his hands on the two primary models, the ‘Span’ and the ‘Fold’, both of which feature two additional screens that you can integrate with your Switch to… well, add more displays.

The key distinction between the two is that the ‘Fold’ folds while the ‘Span’ spans the image across the screens (who would have thought?). The product’s website is packed with illustrations of using the displays with Switch — and a questionable amount of AI-generated images — so, along with the ambition of operating a DS emulator on the clamshell unit, we decided to take a closer look.

In practice, things aren’t quite as rosy as the marketing would indicate. The video above shows Alex navigating the screens’ cumbersome setup, missing components, lack of purpose, and the hefty price tag. That said, it also features him playing Project Rub and Super Mario 64 DS on two large OLED displays, so take that for what it’s worth.

What do you think of this unique display setup? Let us know in the comments.
