Finality’s Auger is an innovative weapon that exhibits intriguing behaviors not previously seen in other guns, almost granting players a class ability to deploy a turret beside them. How to get Finality’s Auger
Finality’s Auger is a reward available exclusively within the Sundered Doctrine dungeon. This means that you must have access to the dungeon, which requires the Final Form Dungeon Key. If you haven’t acquired it by purchasing the final Destiny 2 expansion, you can obtain it in-game for 2,000 Silver, Destiny 2’s in-game currency, which is roughly $20 and also grants you entry to the Sundered Doctrine dungeon.
Like other dungeon Exotics, Finality’s Auger is obtained as a random drop from the dungeon’s final boss. Unfortunately, this means that unlike some other Exotics, you will need to replay Sundered Doctrine until you acquire it.
There is one way to guarantee obtaining Finality’s Auger, and that is by completing Sundered Doctrine in Contest mode. This challenging mode is only available during the first 48 hours of the dungeon’s release, as part of the race in which teams compete to be the first to finish the dungeon. Contest mode restricts players’ levels beneath the actual recommended level for each encounter, leveling the playing field among all players and making everything significantly more difficult than usual. If you complete Sundered Doctrine in Contest mode, you will secure Finality’s Auger as a reward for your efforts.
If you miss out on Contest mode or prefer to play through the dungeon normally, you may be able to boost your chances of obtaining Finality’s Auger. Other dungeons have Triumphs that enhance the drop rate of their Exotics, and we expect a similar feature here. How to obtain the Finality’s Auger Catalyst
Much like previous dungeon Exotic weapons, merely finding the weapon is just the first step. Like other dungeons, the Catalyst for Finality’s Auger will likely involve discovering secrets and completing Triumphs while finishing the dungeon on Master difficulty with a fireteam.

The Finality’s Auger catalyst enhances its power by adding the weapon perk Bait and Switch. When players switch to either of their other weapons to deal damage, then switch back to Finality’s Auger, the weapon will inflict increased damage for a short duration. This perk influences the damage dealt by the Runescribe’s Forge turret and the Runescribe’s Beacon painted mode (both explained below). Ideally, players should alternate between their first two weapons to deal some damage, then switch back to Finality’s Auger to utilize the turret’s capabilities.
Can you farm Finality’s Auger?
In certain Destiny 2 activities, you have the opportunity to replay them repeatedly until you receive the drops you want—in other words, you can farm for a specific piece of gear. However, it is usually the case that Exotics in newly introduced dungeons are not farmable. Instead, the number of chances you have at the Exotic is limited, typically to once per character each week. This means that if you play across all three characters, you have three opportunities per week to earn Finality’s Auger; if you utilize all three attempts, you will need to wait for the weekly reset at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET on Tuesday for another three chances.
