Paradox Entertainment Sets Sights on Haemimont Games Acquisition

Paradox Interactive has acquired Bulgarian developer Haemimont Video games for an undisclosed amount.
The studio, recognized for its strategy games, including Surviving Mars, will become a fully owned subsidiary of Paradox after the acquisition.
Paradox characterized the arrangement as “an additional step in [its] strategic emphasis on expanding within the management games genre” by “cultivating a robust internal capability that complements [its] existing studio structure.”
The current leadership team and staff of Haemimont Video games will remain with the studio, and ongoing projects will continue to develop.
The acquisition involves an initial cash consideration followed by a “performance-based earnout of a similar magnitude” that “will be disbursed over the coming years.”
“We are thrilled to join the Paradox family,” stated Haemimont Video games founder Gabriel Dobrev. “This collaboration enables us to expand the horizons of our games.”
