The initial chapter of the manga will be available in Japan in conjunction with Shadows itself, which is set to launch on March 20th. In many regions across the globe, however, we will have to wait a bit longer.
“Follow the journey of a young Assassin apprentice as she battles against the increasing influence of the Templar order in Japan,” reads Ubisoft’s synopsis of the manga series. “Available in Japan at the game’s debut and later in other regions.”
The cover art for the first installment showcases a young female Assassin wielding a sword alongside the iconic Hidden Blade. Is this Naoe, the shinobi co-lead character from Shadows? It’s uncertain.

Initially, the moment Naoe acquires the Hidden Blade for the first time is evidently portrayed early in Assassin’s Creed Shadows itself – suggesting she likely doesn’t look like the fearsome assassin depicted here. Furthermore, the opening scenes – which Eurogamer has already experienced – indicate that Naoe isn’t quite knowledgeable about either the Assassins or the Templars yet.
