The Video Game History Foundation has today unveiled the VGHF Digital Library – an archive containing over 30,000 curated documents from its physical collection.

This archive is currently available in early access with additional items on the way, but it already features more than 1,500 full-text searchable out-of-print video game magazines, never-before-seen sample assets, artwork, and promotional materials.

Users will have the ability to search for specific games, authors, publishers, and various metadata, including publicly available and previously internal documents.

These documents include manuals and items from the first 12 years of E3, a global collection of promotional content from FromSoftware compiled by citizen archivist Kris Urqhart, and 100 CDs filled with artwork and press releases from GamePro’s magazine archive.

“We have been developing this project since we established the Video Game History Foundation in 2017, so we are incredibly proud to start offering access to our digital library and to further our mission of making video game history accessible to all,” stated VGHF founder Frank Cifaldi.
