“Satan Might Yowl: April Premiere for the Anticipated Netflix Series Featuring Limp Bizkit’s Fiery Introduction”
It has truly been quite a while coming – seven years, to be precise – but Netflix‘s animated adaptation of Devil May Cry is almost here. The streaming platform has revealed that the series will debut on April 3rd, accompanied by a trailer of sorts to go along with the announcement.
We first learned that a Devil May Cry animated series was in development back in 2018, with Adi Shankar – the executive producer of Netflix’s critically acclaimed Castlevania adaptation and 2023’s Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix – charged with bringing it to life.
For a time, it appeared that the project might have been quietly put on hold, but 2023 proved otherwise, presenting a first glimpse of the show, along with confirmation that its animation was being produced by Studio Mir – the talented team behind The Legend of Korra.
A year later, Netflix unveiled its first official trailer for the series, showcasing Dante with little enthusiasm for fastening his shirts. This presentation also suggested an April 2025 release, which has now been specified to April 3rd.
The release date announcement from Netflix is accompanied by a trailer that highlights the Devil May Cry series’ opening sequence, filled with uniquely stylized violence and a Limp Bizkit soundtrack. It is quite different from the original anime, needless to say, which features a more classic anime-style aesthetic.
We still do not have any plot details for this animated version.
