Those who enjoy a touch of quirky fun in their gaming may want to keep an eye on this one. Publisher Crunching Koalas and developer Dexai Arts have today unveiled the first-person bouncer simulator Techno Banter on the Switch eShop, and it looks… fascinating.

This game revolves around determining which partygoers gain entry to a club and who should be sent away. Its concept is reminiscent of titles like Papers, Please and Lil’ Guardsman, but Techno Banter spices it up with, you guessed it, witty banter. You’ll likely need to employ your cleverness to hit back at any troublesome prospective guests with clever retorts, keeping the party atmosphere alive and maintaining order at the entrance.

Oh right, we almost overlooked. Your bouncer character, Nill, is a muscular dog/man in a tank top. In fact, many of the guests are anthropomorphic animals or other bizarre entities. Hey, we did say it looked unusual!

The launch trailer above gives us a glimpse of what to expect from Techno Banter, highlighting some of the sharp dialogue and psychedelic visuals that you can anticipate along the journey. We’ll also include some screenshots below, so you can take a closer look.

It surprisingly evokes the vibe of an unsettling episode of Bojack Horseman, but with an apocalyptic atmosphere looming over it all. Kinda intriguing, right?

Techno Banter is now available on the Switch eShop.
