Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is set to receive several notable updates during the first half of 2025 and possibly more. The first major patch of the year will launch in February, introducing a new map, a brand-new Tyranid adversary, and an Absolute challenge.

Focus Entertainment shared its update roadmap for the game through a community announcement on its official forum. The post begins by addressing community concerns regarding the slow pace of updates, clarifying that new content will be available approximately every two months. It emphasizes, “We’d love to do more, but we’re dedicated to providing polished updates, which require time and attention!” Check out the official “Year One” roadmap below.

The roadmap reveals that players can expect multiple significant updates in the forthcoming months. Scheduled for release during the third season of Space Marine 2, Patch 7 will introduce a new PvP mission, tailored PvP lobbies, PvE discipline ranks, and a new weapon. Updates in spring will include a Horde Mode, a new enemy, a unique PvP arena, an additional PvP mode, and new armaments. The announcement also guarantees continued support for the game beyond 2025.

The community update outlines what players can anticipate with the February patch. It debuts a new map called Tomb, set beneath the surface of the planet Delerium in a Necron catacomb. The patch introduces a new enemy named Biovore, an artillery foe resembling a scorpion that launches Spore Mines. Players can encounter it in any location containing Tyranids. In the new datavault, players can unlock information about game features and new cosmetics by utilizing a new currency earned through completing in-game achievements. The update also incorporates emotes, additional cosmetics, a perks rework, and an FOV slider.

Space Marine 2 was a significant triumph for Warhammer creators Games Workshop, and they are on the lookout for their next successful title. Amazon’s Warhammer series may soon be entering active development. You can also find the complete patch notes for Patch 6 below.

NEW PvP MAP – TOMB 💀

A new PvP map will be introduced in the 6.0 update! We’ve previously hinted that this will be set in a confined environment with numerous narrow paths encouraging engagement in close-quarter battles.

This map is located beneath the surface of Delerium, amidst the eerie ruins of a Necron tomb. It’s a constricted environment with many tight corridors. Be vigilant as there are blind spots. Additionally, there’s more open space to allow players to experiment with their combat style.

NEW ENEMY – BIOVORE 🦂

The Biovore is a new enemy in PvE, featured in all maps with Tyranids. It’s an Extremis foe, formidable at both range and in melee combat. Watch out for the Spore Mines it launches.

Remember to evade and then target the Spore Mine to destroy them before they detonate. 💥

Do not hesitate, Brother. You’ve got this.

SALAMANDERS CHAMPION 🦎

We announced it last month: The Salamanders Champion has arrived! One of the Loyalist First Founding Chapters of the Space Marines.

Available for the Sniper class, featuring unique skins for your Champion and your Scout Sniper Rifle: accentuate that green paint, those flames, and seize the battlefield.

RAVEN GUARD ON THE WAY! 🐦‍⬛

The Raven Guard are entering the fray! New cosmetics will soon be available with the season pass, including the fan-favorite: ✨🦅 beaky helmet 🦅✨ (MK VI “Corvus”) and Raven Guard embellishments.

The MK VI “Corvus” helmet is available both with and without the Raven Guard emblem, allowing you to customize your Space Marine to your liking. ✨

DATAVAULT 📚

The Datavault makes its debut in the Battle Barge!

In this new feature, players can discover unlockable information about various game components in the Study Center, as well as aesthetic rewards. To unlock them, you will need a new specific currency, earned through in-game achievements (known as Ordeals), across all modes (Campaign, PvE, and PvP). It’s time to challenge yourself! 🎖️

These achievements will be displayed alongside the unlockable details.

Here’s a glimpse of the Ordeals you’ll need to complete to earn the currency:
