But it has to happen eventually, right?
We certainly do not want to dampen anyone’s enthusiasm around World of Warcraft possibly arriving on console, but when you notice a publication suggesting it might be on the way shortly, we’re speculating that it could be an error on Xbox’s part.
You can check out an example of the email that’s being sent out to Xbox fans below, which clearly places a console icon next to the World of Warcraft section and indeed mentions the game as part of Game Pass.
We have witnessed similar errors before, and usually, they rarely turn out to be anything substantial. If World of Warcraft were to receive a console version for Xbox, it definitely wouldn’t be announced so casually in a straightforward publication.
That being said, we are hopeful that we see it eventually. Last year, it was reported that an Xbox version of WoW was still under discussion internally, and now that Microsoft owns the IP, it’s certainly just a matter of time before it finally happens.
For now, however, it’s probably best to temper any excitement you may encounter. We seriously doubt that this email signifies anything substantial!
