While the arrival of Halo has been reiterated
A fresh report suggests that Blizzard’s Diablo 4 might currently be under development for Nintendo’s upcoming Switch 2 console.
This information comes from eXputer contributor ‘eXtas1s’ who, in a recently posted video (thanks, VGC), mentions that the game is likely aimed for release on the new console in 2025. He also emphasizes Nate the Hate’s earlier claims regarding Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Flight Simulator.
“These are two of the titles Microsoft plans to bring to Switch 2, but they are not the only ones. In fact, here’s a bit of an unusual update I can share with you. Based on what I’ve been told, Diablo 4 is already being developed for Nintendo Switch 2, so it wouldn’t be surprising at all if Diablo 4 was released in 2025 on Switch 2.”
Of course, it’s wise to approach such statements with a healthy level of skepticism; however, one aspect working in eXtas1s’s favor is his track record of revealing Game Pass titles before their official announcement. The Diablo series is no stranger to the Switch either, with Diablo III: Eternal Collection and Diablo II: Resurrected both available on the eShop.
eXtas1s also mentioned that Fallout 4, Starfield, Tekken 8, and Elden Ring might potentially come to the Switch 2, although this was significantly more speculative than his assertion about Diablo 4.
Third-party developers are now able to announce any Switch 2 projects since the console has been officially unveiled, though it’s likely we will have to wait until Nintendo’s upcoming Direct presentation in April before hearing about some of the major titles heading to the system.
