The anticipated price for the Nintendo Switch 2 is, as of this moment, unconfirmed and may possibly stay that way until Nintendo’s significant Direct presentation in April.
However, according to Circana (NPD) analyst Mat Piscatella, the eventual cost of the console might not be particularly significant for those of us who are early adopters. In a discussion with GamesRadar+, he noted that as long as the price of the device isn’t excessively “outrageous,” it is likely to perform well in sales.
“I don’t think launch pricing will truly impact sales. Early adopters of new Nintendo hardware tend to be less sensitive to price, so as long as the launch cost isn’t excessively high, it’ll sell. And, naturally, prices can decrease over time. But we shall see.”
We might suggest that, indeed, he may have a valid point with this assessment. We can only speak for ourselves here, but it appears as though we’ve been eager for the Switch’s successor for an eternity at this stage. So aside from the desire of owning one for the sake of featured content on this website, it’s clear that we will be purchasing it on its release day.
We believe, once again, that the forthcoming Nintendo Direct in April will significantly influence most people’s decisions on whether or not to acquire the Switch 2 immediately. Everyone knows that Mario Kart 9 is on the horizon, but will it be a launch title? And which other games can we expect to see on day one? Only time will tell.
