Riot Games is taking action in response to the catastrophic fires that have ravaged various areas of Los Angeles in recent days. In the upcoming week, the publisher plans to initiate in-game fundraisers in titles such as League of Legends and Valorant, with the profits going to individuals affected by the fires.
“These are undeniably challenging times, and a long path to recovery lies ahead, but I appreciate that we are all united in this effort—no matter where we are across the globe,” stated Riot CEO A. Dylan Jadeja. “Thank you for your continued support.”
Beginning next week, the EX.O Series in Valorant’s in-game store will transform into the Give Back Bundle, and any revenue Riot generates from the sales of items in this bundle will benefit the Riot Games Social Impact Fund. Riot’s Social Impact Fund is a donor-supported fundraising account backed by ImpactAssets and aims to provide humanitarian assistance in times of crisis. The Give Back Bundle will be available for purchase from Wednesday, January 22, to Thursday, January 30.
Regarding League of Legends, players can anticipate a slightly longer fundraising campaign, starting with Firefighter Tristana being reintroduced specifically for this purpose. Similar to Valorant’s Give Back Bundle, all proceeds from Firefighter Tristana’s sales will contribute to the Riot Games Social Impact Fund. Firefighter Tristana will be available from Thursday, January 23, to Wednesday.
