An Assassin’s Creed “port” may potentially set the standard

Nintendo’s upcoming console introduction appears to be on the brink and along with first-party games, there is also anticipated to be a wealth of third-party support.
The reliable podcaster ‘Nate the Hate’ has once again weighed in, asserting that Ubisoft has “more than six titles for the Switch 2” in the works, many of which are predicted to be “delayed ports” of pre-existing games:
“I’ve been informed that Ubisoft is preparing over six games for the Switch 2 and numerous these will be late ports, spanning various franchises such as The Division, Rainbow Six Siege, and there’s also discussions regarding a Mario Rabbids collection…it’s just a matter of when these games will be released.”
“During the launch period” of the ‘Switch 2’, Nintendo enthusiasts can anticipatedly look forward to Assassin’s Creed Mirage. The new title Assassin’s Creed Shadows is also thought to be on the way, however, it likely “probably” won’t be ready for release:
“In my opinion, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is one of the ports currently in development, it simply won’t be ready for launch, and certainly won’t be available during the launch window.”
Nate further mentions that if Ubisoft “is able to port the game, they will do so” – linking this to the third-party company’s well-known “financial challenges” and the way it seemingly perceives the Switch successor as a “potentially profitable platform” for releasing as many titles as conceivable.
The Switch “successor” is expected to launch this current fiscal year, with recent reports indicating that the significant announcement is imminent.
