Greetings from Atomfall

The developer Insurrection has recently released a gameplay preview of its forthcoming survival game Atomfall, which is scheduled to launch on Xbox Game Pass this March. We’re getting similar vibes to Fallout, We Happy Few, and certainly Sniper Elite from this title; the latter being Insurrection’s most recognized intellectual property to date.
While there are clear gameplay ties to its historical FPS franchise, Atomfall definitely feels and sounds like a significant shift for the British developer. For one, it is highly imaginative, even though the concept originates from the actual Windscale Disaster of 1957.
“In this official gameplay trailer, we reveal the threats and enigmas that await you in our captivating new single-player survival action game, Atomfall. Atomfall draws inspiration from the true events of the 1957 Windscale catastrophe, and the narrative unfolds five years later in a fictionalized quarantine area featuring rolling hills, valleys, caves, and even a charming English village.”
Indeed, the development team is taking numerous creative liberties regarding the events during the five-year span following the disaster, introducing “a host of quirky characters and mysterious factions that dwell within the quarantine zone.” We’re definitely excited about this one – it all looks incredibly appealing, and we’re eager to explore this unique slice of British countryside in just a few short weeks.
This is fantastic, we don’t need to wait long for Atomfall’s debut. This Xbox Game Pass “single-player survival action game” is set to release on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on March 27th, 2025.
