The recently unveiled Lenovo Legion Go S is the first officially licensed third-party handheld for PC to utilize Valve’s SteamOS.
In a blog post, Valve mentioned that the operating system powering the Steam Deck has been upgraded to fully support the Legion Go S, a compact version of Lenovo’s Legion Go which was released in 2023.
According to The Verge, the SteamOS version of the Legion Go S is set to launch in May possibly for $499. A Windows 11 variant of the console is planned to be released this month.
Valve stated that it is also aiming to expand the features of SteamOS to other third-party devices. A beta version of SteamOS will be made available for users to download and test.
No specific date has been provided for the release of the SteamOS beta.
