Alongside Flight Simulator
Renowned insider Nate the Loathe has asserted in a new podcast episode that Microsoft will expand its multiplatform goals in 2025 by bringing both Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Flight Simulator to the ‘Switch 2’ and the PS5.
The insider – who previously accurately stated that Indiana Jones and the Monumental Circle would finally arrive on PS5 in 2025 after its release on Xbox – expanded on his claim, mentioning “any [Xbox] game released this year will eventually make its way to PS5 and/or Switch 2, it’s merely a question of when.”
He suggested that Microsoft is likely to be a substantial advocate for the upcoming Switch 2 and will most likely port its existing Switch titles, such as Pentiment, Grounded, among others, with enhanced resolution and features. It comes as no surprise that Microsoft is significantly altering its strategy to incorporate greater multiplatform support following its difficulties in expanding its own user base; however, this is perhaps the clearest indication yet regarding the scale of its plans.
Halo, in particular, is anticipated to be a prominent release on the Switch 2 given the franchise’s reputation as a flagship Xbox exclusive, with many considering it one of Xbox’s most vital intellectual properties alongside Gears of War. The Master Chief Collection initially debuted in 2014 and includes Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo 4, and Halo: Reach.
Meanwhile, we all remain hopeful for an official announcement regarding the Switch 2 in the weeks ahead. Nintendo has chosen to stay relatively quiet on the recent leaks concerning the console; however, today confirmed that accessory manufacturer Genki’s version of the Switch Successor was “not official”.
