“They have ultimately eliminated the daily achievements”
This week, we announced that Xbox Game Pass Quests are set for a significant overhaul as we enter 2025 (in selected regions), and this modification is now in effect – resulting in major changes to the system’s operation.
As you might notice in the image above, one of the most significant changes is that nearly everything is now centered on enjoying games consistently – there are various types of streaks you can accumulate (with multipliers that may come into play), along with new Monthly 4-Pack and 8-Pack challenges that encourage exploration of the Game Pass library.
Several of the previous Xbox Game Pass Quests have now been completely removed as a consequence, including the requirement to earn achievements daily – a change that many players appreciate, as you can see below:
Nevertheless, not everyone seems fully pleased with the modifications made to Xbox Rewards. Some have expressed concerns regarding the new 4-Pack and 8-Pack tasks, claiming that players might just idle on each game for fifteen minutes, which feels somewhat unnecessary. In rare instances, these quests reportedly haven’t been tracking accurately either.
We have observed a slight amount of criticism regarding the new streak multipliers as well, which are a clever way to earn points but necessitate consistent engagement each month. There’s also been some dissatisfaction concerning the overall achievement aspect – a few players are simply disappointed to see this feature removed, particularly regarding the YouTube channel Rewards Hunter (managed by Twitter user ChickenPossible) that has been a valuable and cherished resource:

As much as there has been mixed feedback, we can say that the majority of Microsoft Rewards and Xbox Game Pass Quests users seem to lean towards a positive perspective, and we hope this remains the trend throughout 2025.
