Fans of Arcane are treated to a 5-minute exciting experience to enjoy today, in the form of a brand new story cinematic launched by League of Legends creators Insurgent Video games.

The film is specifically crafted to highlight Noxus, the setting for League of Legends’ upcoming season that commences tomorrow, and the domain of the prominent character Mel Medarda.

Additionally, this video serves as a continuation of Mel’s narrative from Arcane itself, hinting at what we might see next in Arcane’s forthcoming Noxus-centered sequel. Should you need further incentive to watch, the cinematic was produced in collaboration with Fortiche, the talented French animation studio behind Arcane. Here it is:

Firstly, it’s notable that this content is set immediately after Arcane’s second season due to Mel’s new golden tattoos she acquires during its storyline.

Here, we also get a clear look at LeBlanc, the leader of the Dark Rose faction, who appeared in Arcane’s second season but remained largely incognito. She is shown here conversing with Vladimir, another League of Legends champion, about some questionable intentions for the Noxian empire.

After the wrap-up of Arcane, showrunner Christian Linke confirmed that the series could be followed by three additional shows exploring other regions within the League of Legends universe. The first, set in Noxus, began production a year ago – and today’s cinematic almost feels like a preliminary teaser for that. Subsequent series will feature the areas of Demacia and Ionia.

“We’re really expanding our scope, we’re considering every region and we now have the opportunity to create a slate to narrate many more tales – and continue some of them,” Linke previously mentioned.
