DualSense in disguise
We’ve recently seen an increase in PS5-style Xbox controllers appearing, but this one might be the most reminiscent of all! During CES 2025, Hyperkin introduced a new Xbox controller called “The Competitor,” which closely resembles the DualSense.
As you can observe, this controller positions the left thumbstick at the bottom and relocates the PS5-style d-pad to the top, while the color scheme is notably similar to the PlayStation controller design.
The Competitor is indeed a wired controller compatible with Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. One of the significant advantages compared to traditional Xbox controllers is that it features Hall Effect sticks, which help eliminate stick drift issues. It apparently also includes Hall Effect triggers.
We are still awaiting the release date and pricing details for The Competitor, so we recommend you stay tuned for more information as it becomes available. Something tells us this controller could become quite popular in the Hyperkin lineup later this year!
