Strange Leak Surrounding GTA 6 Raises Speculation about Rockstar’s Internal Processes
“Let’s hope there isn’t any video footage.”
Images that are believed to have been captured within Rockstar’s San Diego workplace have surfaced online, revealing a computer screen displaying what appears to be GTA 6 in action.
As for the video game leak, the alleged footage of GTA 6 is rather insignificant — it merely shows a key character, Lucia, standing by a wall and some crates. Moreover, this image seems to date back to the summer of 2021, about three and a half years ago.
What’s peculiar is that the footage was taken deep within Rockstar’s own offices, shared online by someone seemingly comfortable with the repercussions.
The image and two accompanying video snippets, which offer a fleeting glimpse of more of the work environment, were initially uploaded to reddit by a user named JustLovett0 approximately 17 hours ago. “A friend of mine captured this while they worked at the Rockstar office for a few months,” they explained in a post titled “a photo from mid-2021. I think it’s been long enough I can share this.”
The impression of the workspace itself seems quite ordinary, although it is undeniably recognizable as the Rockstar San Diego building based on the design of the windows and entrance visible from outside.
Desks within view host PlayStation and Xbox development kits, one of which is tagged with a code starting with “SAND,” likely indicating San Diego.
When questioned about whether their friend was concerned about being identified, JustLovett0 responded: “He is very far removed from Rockstar now, doesn’t work there or in any related industry. I’m not worried, but I’ll probably delete the post.”
