“Experience the Thrills of Winter with Wonder Rivals: Dive into a Splatoon-Inspired Arcade Adventure Featuring Jeff the Land Shark!”

A festive Winter Celebration for Marvel Rivals has been announced, featuring a mini-game mode inspired by Splatoon.

Jeff’s Winter Splash Festival will have players controlling their own adorable land shark in two teams that compete to coat the arena in colorful snow.

This mode will be accessible starting December 20th, coinciding with the full event launch, which will introduce new costumes and a Gallery Card customization challenge as well. Check it out in the trailer below.

The new costumes include an icy Venom, Groot adorned like a Christmas tree, and Rocket wearing a Santa hat, among other characters.

Regarding the Gallery Card, players will earn special items by completing various tasks, including the Jeff the Land Shark: Cuddly Fuzzlefin costume and other rewards.

In additional news, the game’s creative director Guangyun “Guangguang” Chen confirmed to Dot Esports that cross-progression is underway to allow players to advance seamlessly across different platforms. Cross-play between PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S is already implemented, but current progression is limited to individual platforms.

“Cross-progression encompasses multiple platform-specific regulations, and we’re still exploring how to implement it,” stated Chen. “Once the team is prepared and we’ve figured out the details, we’ll make an announcement to everyone.”
