A Legendary Achievement: Streamer Perfectly Conquers the Challenge of Guitar Hero 2 Without a Single Miss
You may have encountered flawless runs in Pokemon and FromSoftware games; perhaps you’re feeling a bit jaded by now, but I assure you that you’ve never witnessed anyone achieve a perfect run of Guitar Hero 2, starting from scratch even if they miss just one note.
Streamer Acai successfully completed all 74 songs on Guitar Hero 2 this past weekend without missing a single note, achieving a stunning combo run. According to a ResetEra user, it appears that they have become the first person in the world to complete this challenge.
Acai tweeted an enthusiastic message in all caps, “GUITAR HERO 2 PERMADEATH COMPLETE. 74/74.” The entire run spanned over eight hours and required total focus throughout. Remarkably, it took them just over a dozen attempts to achieve this. Their stream indicates 15 tries, but the congratulatory overlay shows 17, suggesting that one or two of these could have been practice attempts to familiarize themselves with the challenge.
The message reads: “Holy moly, you did it! Without any misses too? WOW.” Indeed, what a feat! I’ve played Guitar Hero at an arcade, and it’s incredibly challenging. I did reasonably well, but I can’t imagine ever being skilled enough to complete the entire game flawlessly.
As Acai approached the final few songs, viewers in his stream were buzzing with excitement. Before the last attempt, he had only managed to get halfway, completing 37 songs out of 74. Upon finally finishing the last song, he exclaimed: “I did it! I really did it!” with an expression of astonishment on his face.
To participate, you would need a modified Xbox 360, and TheGamer notes that Acai used a modded guitar as well. Therefore, it would be difficult for anyone else to replicate this achievement on a technical level, but even if I had all the right equipment, I doubt I would be able to succeed.
