No indications of a substantial acquisition at this moment
Recently, there was considerable concern within the Xbox community when it was reported that Sony was contemplating acquiring the parent company behind titles such as Elden Ring, Dark Souls, and Armored Core, but fortunately, that scenario has not materialized.
Today, it has been revealed that Kadokawa (the parent company of FromSoftware, Spike Chunsoft, and many other entertainment ventures) has formed a unique “alliance” with Sony – with Sony acquiring over 12 million new shares in the company. Sony has invested approximately 50 billion yen to become Kadokawa’s largest stakeholder.
