Set your Alarmos

We have been anticipating that delightful Nintendo Switch 2 announcement for what feels like ages now — and indeed, it has been ages — but now, as of today, we are finally on the home stretch. That’s assuming your ‘home stretch’ encompasses 100 days ahead.
We understand that an announcement is forthcoming “this fiscal year“, and if you consider today (December 22nd) as Day 1, then there are precisely 100 potential days remaining for Nintendo to declare “the successor to Nintendo Switch” before we reach April 1st and enter the next fiscal year. Things get tricky if you start factoring in those pesky hours, but if today = Day 1, March 31st = Day 100. Understand? Good.
We certainly hope it won’t take the full 14-plus weeks to unveil more information, however there may be a glimmer at the end of the tunnel. This also means we have a maximum of 100 more days of ‘leaks’ and rumors left until we finally get to see what the darn thing actually is, and that’s a reason for celebration in our book.
Of course, plans might change behind closed doors and the “this fiscal year” promise is not an unbreakable guarantee — remember Hollow Knight: Silksong “next year“? We hope — but let’s not get bogged down in negativity. After all, Nintendo isn’t going to want to upset its fans, who are just as eager to see what’s ahead as we are.
So, happy ‘100 days to go’ to anyone opening their Switch 2 countdown calendar today! Let’s hope you don’t have to open all those doors before Nintendo reveals the product.
Do you think it will take the entire 100 days for the ‘Switch 2’ reveal, or could we get something sooner? Let us know in the following poll and then head to the comments to share your successor hopes and dreams.
