“Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl Developer Introduces Next-Gen Update for Stalker: Legends of the Zone Trilogy”
Increased anticipation for the Stalker 2 trend roadmap in the coming twelve months as well.
As Stalker 2 creator GSC Game World approaches the end of 2024 with patch 1.1, the studio has confirmed that it is also developing a next-gen update for the console version of Stalker: Legends of the Zone Trilogy.
While unable to commit to a specific timeline, the team stated, “we are aware that you have requested us to update the PC editions of the original Stalker titles, and we also intend to do that.”
“Stay tuned to our social media channels so you won’t miss the exact announcements,” the studio hinted.
In a year-end message, GSC stated: “Yesterday, a significant patch 1.1 for Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl was launched. The time between the release and the holiday season has been focused on enhancing your experience with our game. We hope that many of you will find the time to start, continue, or finish Stalker 2 during the holiday period.”
GSC mentioned that changes to Stalker 2 will continue in the upcoming year, and they “will be ready to share the content roadmap for the game at the start of 2025.”
“The next-gen update for the console versions of Stalker: Legends of the Zone Trilogy is set to be released next year,” GSC added. “We understand that you have requested updates for the PC versions of the original Stalker games, and we are also planning to do that.”
“The level of support you’ve displayed since the game’s launch continues to astonish us. Your backing is genuinely a marvel of the Zone. We’ll see you in the next year!”
Upon its debut in November, Stalker 2 faced criticism for performance challenges. However, in a conversation with Eurogamer, GSC Game World’s CEO Ievgen Grygorovych stated that delaying the game was not an option.
“You become so exhausted that you would collapse if you say let’s run another marathon,” Grygorovych shared at that time. “We did not have the opportunity to say let’s extend it. We only had the option of ‘let’s get it done.’
