XDefiant Patch Reveals Secrets of What Might Have Been in Future Seasons
“Everything mentioned here and more serves as our final homage to all the dedicated individuals who contributed to the creation of this game.”
XDefiant‘s final content patch is now available.
Executive producer Tag Rubin remarked that this update signifies a “bittersweet moment,” but he expressed his satisfaction with the team “who put forth extraordinary effort to develop this game and all of its fantastic content”.
“Ubisoft has not only permitted a small team to remain and continue working on releasing our Season 3 content, but we’ve also been able to introduce some additional elements to this update from upcoming seasons,” explained Rubin. “Thus, we have our Season 3 content alongside some material from Season 4, 5, 6, 7, and even Season 8.”
The content update introduces three new factions, including a crossover with Assassin’s Creed promised some time ago. The Wolves and Omega Force factions are also included, even though they were originally scheduled to debut in seasons four and five.
“We are also introducing six new Arena Maps and three new Linear Maps from future seasons. So combined with the four new maps from Season 3, that brings the total to 13 new maps,” Rubin remarked. “And I must emphasize that the team truly excelled in creating these remarkable new maps. If you do anything at all, you need to check out the new Rayman map that was intended for an epic event in Season 4. It even features its very own mode called Lum Hunt.”

“Everything mentioned here and more is our final tribute to all the dedicated people who built this game and to all the fans who have supported us throughout this journey,” Rubin added.
