Invoke Studios is accelerating the discontinuation of Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance. The action-RPG will be removed from all platforms on February 24, 2025, and may potentially no longer be available for purchase.

The game initially debuted in 2021 (back when Invoke was Tuque Games) for PlayStation 4 and 5, PC, and Xbox One and Series X|S. Although unrelated to the original Dark Alliance games from Snowblind and Black Isle, this title was an effort to revitalize that particular category of Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) games.

According to Invoke, Dark Alliance’s core game and DLC will remain playable via offline single-player mode after February 24. A week earlier, on February 18, Sumo Digital’s Hood: Outlaws and Legends will also be delisted and become unplayable.

The Future of Invoke with Dungeons & Dragons

Invoke seems to have moved on from Dark Alliance just about a year following its release. In fall 2022, it announced that it was already developing a new AAA game, set once again in the D&D universe.

Last year’s Larian-developed Baldur’s Gate 3 became a major success for the studio and franchise holder Wizards of the Coast. Wizards has expressed a desire to explore and produce more D&D games, either in-house or in collaboration with partners. Additionally, they are looking to launch a new franchise with Exodus, Archetype Entertainment’s sci-fi RPG that recently showcased a gameplay preview earlier this week.
