Sport Awards Live Streams Experience a 31% Surge Year-Over-Year
The 2024 event achieved four million peak simultaneous viewers across Western platforms
The Game Awards 2024 recorded approximately 154 million global livestreams, as announced by the organizers.
This marks an impressive increase of nearly 31% compared to 2023’s 118 million livestreams, which held the previous record for the event.
The statistics reflect results from YouTube, Twitch, Steam, TikTok Live, X, Instagram Live, and Facebook. According to StreamCharts, the event drew more than four million peak simultaneous viewers on Western platforms, including Twitch and YouTube, representing a 10% rise from the previous year. The Game Awards’ 4K stream also experienced a remarkable 35% spike in peak concurrent users on YouTube, totaling 1.3 million viewers. When co-streams are included, YouTube viewership increased by 28% to 2.17 million.
This data celebrates a successful tenth anniversary event for The Game Awards, featuring the showcase of several high-profile titles, including CD Projekt’s The Witcher 4, and Playful Dog’s Interga.
