Total War: Warhammer 3 allows you to set knights, sorcerers, titans, daemons, and everything in between into battle. Now, a new DLC promises extra strategic dimensions as you conquer the known world. This is our guide that covers the Total War: Warhammer 3 – Omens of Destruction legendary lords.
Total War: Warhammer 3 – Omens of Destruction Legendary Lords Guide
Total War: Warhammer 3 – Omens of Destruction allows you to choose from three legendary lords: Golgfag Maneater of the Ogre Kingdoms, Gorbad Ironclaw of the Greenskins, and Skulltaker of the Khorne forces. You can acquire each leader individually or as part of a package. Additionally, a free DLC—also referred to as free-LC—introduces Arbaal the Undefeated.
Our Total War: Warhammer 3 – Omens of Destruction legendary lords guide outlines what sets each lord apart, as well as what you can expect for those who bring them into your campaigns.
Ogre Kingdoms: Golgfag Maneater
The Ogre Kingdoms offer their services to the highest bidder, and Golgfag Maneater aims to take advantage of ongoing regional disputes. You can view his advantages below.
Faction benefits:
- Access to Mercenary Contracts; can also be recruited by other factions.
- Can immediately travel to an ally’s settlement once per Mercenary Contract.
- Cannot form alliances with other factions.
- +5 melee attack when fighting a contracted enemy.
- Trait: Immune to psychology when fighting a contracted enemy (all armies).
Lord benefits:
- +25% post-battle loot earnings.
- -20% upkeep for Maneater units (lord’s army).
- Ability: Deadly Watch
DLC-exclusive units:
- Legendary hero: Bragg the Gutsman
- Generic lord: Ogre Paymaster
- Generic hero: Bruiser
- Unit: Blood Vultures
- Unit: Thundertusk
- Unit: Yhetee
- Unit: Pigback Riders
- Unit: Golgfag’s Maneaters
Golgfag Maneater may be the best legendary lord in Omens of Destruction for players looking for a more flexible approach to the campaign. This is because you can simply acquire contracts from other factions to tackle their enemies. Objectives include winning battles, raiding territories, and executing hero actions. You may also support the contracting faction by delivering settlements you have captured. In return, you earn attractive rewards like gold, meat, and various bonuses.
This positioning makes Golgfag an excellent choice for those who enjoy roaming, defeating enemies to earn more wealth and expand your armies. This is also enhanced by a recent update as part of a free patch, allowing you to relocate your Ogre Camps to a new location. The only downside is that you cannot form alliances with anyone, so do not expect others to come to your aid when you are in trouble.
Greenskins: Gorbad Ironclaw
Gorbad Ironclaw of the Greenskins is for players who want to maximize their unit compositions. He possesses the following unique traits.
Faction benefits:
- Access to Da Plan, allowing you to devise tactics in the heat of battle.
- Enhanced rewards for completing a Waaagh!
- +15% income from razing settlements (all armies).
- -1 turn global recruitment duration (faction-wide).
Lord benefits:
- -10% upkeep (lord’s army).
- +100% leadership aura.
- Ability: Orcs Are Da Best
- Military ability: Gorbad’s Waaagh! (replaces Waaagh!)
DLC-exclusive units:
- Legendary hero: Snagla Grobspit
- Generic lord: Savage Orc Great Shaman
- Generic hero: Night Goblin Mammoth Boss
- Unit: Black Orcs – Axe and Shield
- Unit: Arachnarok Spider Flingers
- Unit: Mangler Squigs
- Unit: Great Squigs
- Unit: Fan Throwa
You will find great enjoyment when Da Plan comes together. Gorbad’s unique mechanic allows you to unlock strategies as you complete objectives and find skirmishes. In doing so, you may mix different types of units to create buffs.
Benefits include offensive and defensive enhancements, passive traits (i.e., incendiary attacks), and more. This also encourages you to experiment with various army compositions, including combinations of orc, goblin, spider, squig, and all kinds of fearsome creatures. Of course, there may be times when an unlocked strategy seems fantastic on paper, but you are not particularly keen on using certain troops either.
Khorne: Skulltaker
Khorne does not care from where the blood flows, only that it does. And few of the god’s champions are as brutal in this pursuit as Skulltaker.
Faction benefits:
- Access to the Cloak of Skulls, providing bonuses when you defeat the generals of other factions.
- +2 hero capacity for Bloodreapers.
- The Daemons Are Reforged: +10% chance for Bloodletters to be restored after battle (all armies).
- -15% upkeep for Bloodletters and Exalted Bloodletters of Khorne.
Lord benefits:
- +10% campaign movement range.
- +100% campaign line-of-sight.
- Passive ability: Frenzy – For Bloodletters and Exalted Bloodletters (lord’s army).
- Ability: Bloody Onslaught
DLC-exclusive units:
- Legendary hero: Scyla Anfingrimm
- Legendary hero: Skarr Bloodwrath
- Generic lord: Bloodspeaker
- Unit: Blood Beasts
- Unit: Slaughterbrute
- Unit: Khorngors
- Unit: Wrathmongers
- Unit: Skullreapers
Skulltaker is a deadly fighter, eager to engage in direct combat with his foes to assert dominance in the Blood God’s name. As his name suggests, Skulltaker reaps rewards by mercilessly severing heads to adorn his Cloak of Skulls. This act grants powerful bonuses.
