ZeniMax Online Studios Employees Form a Union: A New Era of Empowerment in the Gaming Industry
The union representing 461 employees has received acknowledgment from Microsoft
Employees at Zenimax Online Studios, the developer behind Elder Scrolls Online, have successfully formed a union, as announced by the Communications Workers of America (CWA).
The union, referred to as ZOS United-CWA, has been acknowledged by its parent company Microsoft and comprises 461 members, including “web developers, designers, engineers, and graphic artists,” according to the announcement.
While most of the unionized employees are located in Maryland, they can also be found across the United States in states such as California, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Wisconsin.
This marks the latest successful union formation under CWA’s Campaign to Organize Digital Workers (CODE-CWA), which the organization reports has seen over 6,000 workers unionize since the year 2020.
