The Game Awards 2024: Dates, Highlights, and Everything You Need to Know

Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards usually serves as a fantastic opportunity for publishers and developers to showcase their latest works and future projects – and given that this edition marks the event’s Tenth anniversary, we are eagerly anticipating major surprises for the 2024 showcase.
That being said, here is the schedule for TGA 2024, along with a few highlights we can expect from this year’s ceremony.
What Can We Anticipate From The Game Awards 2024?
While the complete TGA presentation will be kept secret until it airs, that doesn’t mean we are unaware of some anticipated and rumored announcements for this year’s event.
To start with, 2K has disclosed two games that are officially confirmed to be featured at this year’s ceremony – those being Borderlands 4 and Mafia: The Broken Country. Although we do not know precisely what will be revealed regarding these titles, we are looking forward to some spectacular gameplay showcases related to both games that have already been made known.
Additionally, It Takes Two developer Hazelight Studios has also confirmed that they will reveal their next project during the event. The game is reportedly titled ‘Split Fiction’, which we hope to confirm during the livestream.
The Game Awards 2024 Date & Time
The Game Awards 2024 will take place on Thursday, December 12th at 4:30 PM PT / 7:30 PM ET, and 12:30 AM GMT UK time on Friday, December 13th.
While we do not know the exact length of The Game Awards 2024, these events typically run for approximately 3 hours, and we anticipate a wonderfully engaging program for the event’s decade milestone.
The Game Awards 2024 Rumors & Speculation
Alongside those confirmed announcements mentioned earlier, we have been observing quite a bit of speculation regarding this year’s showcase. Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier has hinted at some significant announcements, and we are already hearing whispers about GTA 6, Resident Evil 9 and many more possibly appearing later in the week. None of these have been confirmed yet, but we certainly hope to see both of these titles (and others) in action!
Furthermore, we have heard that Xbox may hold back some of its announcements for another Developer Showcase scheduled for early 2025 – however, that remains just a rumor for now. Team Green typically shows up at TGA with something, so let’s hope we receive a major announcement from Microsoft this week.
