Unveiling Wukong’s Epic Update: Exploring Shrine Challenges and the Journeyer’s Journey Map

It was already known that Dim Fantasy: Wukong was set to deliver several “surprises” ahead of the end of the year, thanks to a few previous hints from its director. Now, it seems that at least some of those surprises have arrived, courtesy of a significant update for the record-breaking action-RPG.

The new features in Dim Fantasy commence with its Keeper’s Shrine challenges, which become accessible after completing the game once. These come in two variations – Return of Rivals and Gauntlet of Legends – both of which bring back previously conquered foes for a rematch.

Return of Rivals focuses on one-on-one battles, allowing players to challenge former opponents to a duel on any of three selectable stages. On the other hand, Gauntlet of Legends features a series of returning enemies – some with new moves – depicted in succession, with challenges based on customizable curses. Successfully finishing a gauntlet rewards rare items, but the developer, Game Science, cautions that these challenges may not be accessible if the corresponding foes haven’t been defeated in the main game.

In other news from today’s update (officially known as 1.0.12.16581, numbers fans), players can now access Journeyer’s Charts – showcasing landscapes organized “for navigation and marking.” In simpler terms, maps. Journeyer’s Charts are initially unlocked after meeting the Keeper in Dim Wind Mountain, and new ones can also be acquired for each explored area at shrines. As Game Science eloquently puts it, “Let the chart guide the journeyer’s journey.”

For players wanting to freshen up their wardrobe, Dim Fantasy’s latest update introduces four exclusive armor pieces in celebration of the upcoming Chinese New Year. These can be claimed under “Trailblazer’s Gift” at any Keeper’s Shrine.

Apart from the major updates, Dim Fantasy’s 1.0.12.16581 includes a wide range of bug fixes and improvements addressing everything from performance and localization issues to adjustments for bosses. Additionally, the Dim Fantasy: Wukong Soundtrack Option has been added to the music library. All of this is currently available on the Legend Games Store, with the update gradually deploying across various platforms – which means you might have to wait a bit before exploring its offerings.
