Tencent Secures Dominant Stake in Kuro Gaming
The developer will continue to operate autonomously as a subsidiary of the gaming company.
Tencent has acquired a controlling interest in the Chinese developer Kuro Games.
According to Gematsu, Tencent purchased a 37% share of the studio from Hero Entertainment for an undisclosed amount, raising its total stake to 51.4%.
This positions Tencent as the sole external shareholder of the developer.
Per an internal memo, Kuro Games emphasized that while Tencent now owns a larger percentage of the firm than its own internal holdings, “its model of independent operations will remain consistent.”
