The weekend has arrived, offering a perfect opportunity to unwind and immerse ourselves in some video games after what has undoubtedly been another hectic week. Before we proceed, however, let’s review some of the major highlights from this week.

To begin with, it was revealed that Tencent may terminate online services for the Nintendo Switch in China by 2026. Just another reason for individuals in that region to import their consoles, right? Nintendo has also officially integrated Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom into the overarching timeline of the franchise. Significant news, and we’re sure you will concur.

On another note, more games have been introduced to the NSO Genesis / Mega Drive library, while reports suggest that Sony might be planning to develop its own handheld device to run PS5 titles and rival Nintendo’s forthcoming ‘Switch 2’.

This week also brought several reviews, including Nine Sols, Loco Motive, MySims Cozy Bundle, and Divine Dynamo Flamefrit. Check them out!

Recently, I’ve been enjoying Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble. Even with some apparent issues in the multiplayer aspect, the adventure mode features some of the best levels I’ve experienced from the series. The new mechanics add substantial depth, so I suspect I’ll be quite occupied with it over the next few days.

This weekend, I plan to play more of Dragon Age: The Veilguard. It’s frustrating to feel so disappointed in it, but I’m still exploring and collecting items. I’ve also been playing [REDACTED], which isn’t released yet, but I’ve invested MANY hours into it, and Mindcop, an incredibly unique little detective game featuring a brain-shooting mini-game. I’m serious about that!

With December approaching this Sunday, time is quickly running out as the GOTY discussions are on the horizon. Therefore, I aim to immerse myself in Tales of Kenzera: Zau, Braid, Loco Motive, and Lorelei and the Laser Eyes. I also hope to check out Mission in Snowdriftland. The developers kindly provided a code, and I love the idea of playing a level each day throughout December.

Don’t forget – these games won’t play themselves! Have a great one, everyone.

Wow, Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake is quite the title, isn’t it? I have a long list of things I want to accomplish before the GOTY season kicks in and reveals how few games I’ve actually played this year, but I find myself irresistibly drawn into a remake of a 40-year-old RPG. Perhaps I’ll try to pace myself this weekend.

I’ve also given Loco Motive a try, and I genuinely enjoyed what I experienced, so hopefully, I’ll get more of that in this weekend too. I can always hum Sugiyama’s Town Theme while I play it…

This weekend, I’ll be catching up on The Queen of Sauce and exploring the Travelling Cart… Oh, you meant outside of Stardew Valley? Not much at all. 1.6 is huge with its mayonnaise-drinking features and has drawn me back into the lovely rhythm of the game. I’ve already adopted two more dogs and I’m saving up for another – though at 40,000g a pup, ConcernedApe really makes you earn it.

My partner recently acquired Snake Pass on Xbox and it looks fun, so I might dive into that if I need a break from the farm (though I’m not so sure).

At last, the moment has come! My 5-year-old has been eagerly anticipating Echoes of Wisdom ever since we finished Link’s Awakening and he spotted an advertisement on the lock screen (well played, Nintendo). Not wanting him to buy new games without hesitation, we initiated a savings plan. Ten weeks later, it’s time to break the piggy bank, so I’m all set for the weekend. Any extra free time will see me tackling the clever later levels of Baba Is You, but otherwise, let’s stack some beds!

Guess what, there’s World 7 in Abathor and Chapter 7 in Gundam Breaker 4! I believe these will be the ultimate endgame soon. Hoping for some solid progress in Carpathian Night Starring Bela Lugosi, a game w
