The Unforgettable Journey of Moon Knight: Marc Spector’s Transformation into Galactus’ Herald

Galactus has represented one of the greatest dangers to the Shock universe since his initial appearance in 1966’s The Impossible Four #Forty eight. With this character set to appear in July 2025’s The Impossible Four: First Steps film, it is hardly surprising that Shock Comics is shining a little more light on the planet-consuming cosmic entity… A new series of five What If…? one-shots will examine potential outcomes if a different hero had served as his herald instead of the Silver Surfer. Hulk, Gambit, Moon Knight, Rogue, and Spider-Gwen will each receive a dedicated issue in January.

Shock’s official synopsis provides an overview of the narrative – and it hints that Moon Knight will be compelled to confront some well-known adversaries…

“When Khonshu, the Moon God, and Galactus, the World-Devourer, confront each other, Moon Knight finds himself in the midst! To restore order, Moon Knight takes on the role of Galactus’s newest herald – but his alternate personas cause the Power Cosmic to manifest in surprising new ways! Unless Moon Knight can master his newfound abilities – and deal with some former heralds — the Earth itself risks annihilation!”

The What If…? Galactus Transformed… series is published weekly in January, beginning with What If…? Galactus Transformed Hulk on January 1. What If…? Galactus Transformed Moon Knight? is released on January 15, and the entire collection will be compiled into a trade paperback on July 1.
