Nintendo Switch Welcomes a Festive Addition with Superstar Streak Game This Christmas

For many years, options for Star Trek games on Nintendo platforms have been quite limited. However, we are keeping our fingers crossed that Star Trek: Resurgence will be ported sooner rather than later. In the meantime, Star Trek: Prodigy – Supernova — an engaging cooperative experience from Tessera Studios — has turned out to be the most captivating title to boldly venture onto Switch. Additionally, the TNG table in Pinball FX has also caught our attention.

In contrast, according to an eShop listing, Santa is bringing a little surprise for Streak fans on December 25th in the form of Star Trek: Legends. Whether it’s Santa or publisher Qubic Games doesn’t matter; what’s important is that enthusiastic fans might recognize the name as Emerald City Games’ “strategy-oriented RPG” that debuted on Apple Arcade in 2021 and has recently received a Steam release.

By utilizing the Nexus (the space-traveling energy ribbon MacGuffin from Generations that brought Captains Kirk and Picard together) to unite classic franchise characters, Legends involves recruiting both heroes and villains for missions. Players can engage in turn-based battles, with all characters portrayed in a stunning, cinematic art style.

While we haven’t yet experienced the game elsewhere, it certainly appears to take a decidedly non-canonical approach, featuring Starfleet royalty clashing across various factions. Ultimately, regardless of narrative, boosting numbers seems to be the main objective—though it hints at possible microtransactions, it doesn’t seem to be the case.
