The project creator Codecks has secured €1 million to “enhance and develop” its namesake task management software for game creators.

A significant portion of that investment is provided by Inventive Europe Media’s MEDIA initiative, which granted a €700 million fund to the company. With these resources, the studio aims to recruit additional personnel, refine existing Codecks features, and introduce new functionalities while keeping the software “available to as many teams as possible, regardless of their size (or budget!).”

Established in 2019, Codecks employs a system of cards and decks to assist developers manage projects, monitor metrics, and outline milestones. According to the developer, the software is used by companies such as Unity, 505 Games, and Devolver Digital.

Depending on the subscription level, the software’s cost ranges from free to €15 ($15.85) monthly, with additional features available based on the chosen tier.

“We are dedicated to assisting game developers in creating games in a manner that is both efficient and enjoyable,” stated co-founder Riad Djemili in a statement. “This grant presents opportunities for us to greatly enhance and expand Codecks, strengthening the tools we provide and developing new ones, making project management as enjoyable and effective as possible.”

“With this funding, we’re empowered to expand that vision further, with features that make Codecks more beneficial for every team member, regardless of their project or location around the globe,” added fellow co-founder Daniel Berndt.

As indicated in Codecks’ latest blog post, the company intends to introduce new features in 2025, including a redesigned, standalone Vision Board that enables users to visualize the overall progression of their project. It compared the forthcoming version to a “skill tree, but for your game.”
