Assassin’s Creed Syndicate has us daydreaming
- by Ben Kerry
Last week, a nine-year-old Xbox One title was updated to 60FPS on Xbox Series X|S in the form of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate – and this unexpected move by Ubisoft has us pondering and hoping and imagining which other Xbox games could potentially receive the 60FPS treatment.
The main title that immediately springs to mind is Red Dead Redemption 2. We have previously expressed our frustration about this game not being 60FPS yet, and we’re using this small platform to voice the same concern again. Why hasn’t this game — and even its predecessor for that matter — achieved 60FPS on Series X and S yet? It’s perplexing that Rockstar hasn’t resolved this issue!
However, the Red Dead series is one of the more obvious selections for this topic, so – what about some lesser-known options? The 60FPS update for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate came unexpectedly and seems quite arbitrary, so it stands to reason that practically anything could still receive an upgrade if the developers chose to do so!
For our more ‘accessible’ choices, let’s reflect on the early Xbox One era. How about Ryse: Son of Rome, Sunset Overdrive, or perhaps an older third-party title like Batman: Arkham Knight? These games were released in 2013, 2014, and 2015 respectively – but any of them could still be optimized for modern consoles if the developers deemed it worthwhile.
Anyway, do you have any suggestions concerning this? What about a more unconventional 60FPS choice? Share your thoughts below!
